POD Active Knee Braces

Highly recommend POD Active and Byron Marsh. I've had my K300s for over 5 years and recently needed to replace the hinge inserts. Byron from POD Active was amazing and helped me with an urgent replacement. Spent a lot of time answering my questions, giving instructions and information....and getting my parts to me in time! Truly outstanding service, over and beyond! Thank you Byron and POD Active for your great service and excellent products.

Your braces saved my right knee from absolute disaster. I'm pretty sure I would have been life flighted if I wasn't wearing them. Instead, I had a tiny scratch one inch long. I impaled that tree coming around a corner about 20-25mph leading a group of 12 riders. The tree fell almost parallel to the trail on a 60 degree slope. The top of the tree lodged between my knee and the side brace. The initial impact was the front of the knee and the brace pushed the tree to the side where it then got lodged. It took some force to pull it out but I wasn't injured. I love your knee braces!!!!

Terrible instructions. The instructions in the box are minimal and very poor, unclear and confusing. The website has how-to videos for the old versions. Contacted "my local distributor" with fitment questions. Was told to contact POD directly. I feel like I am getting the runaround. Paying $750 for top of the line brace, should come with better costumer service. So far, not a great experience. Edit: I managed to get in touch with the main company in Australia. They were very helpful and had excellent suggestions on how to improve the fit of the brace. They really took the time to talk to me and understand my concerns. They also seemed to appreciate my feedback.

Cannot thank Brett Nicholas @ POD ACTIVE enough for going above and beyond with his efforts. Ordered a pair of replacement POD straps and clips for my knee braces from a local supplier and waited a few weeks for them with no success. Contacted Brett and he dispatched them on the spot and got them before a ride weekend. The PODS are awesome and the support was even better! 💯 would stick with the PODS and recommend the support. Totally appreciate it!

Stating up front I think the braces are excellent, but the knee impact-protection is in dire need of improvement, and this could otherwise be a 5 star review. So for the good, the braces themselves are excellent, they offer tremendous support with a wonderful fit to them. For the bad, the knee covers just do not cut it for moto enduro riding. Even the mildest of contact with a rock will be felt in your kneecap, and I've now bruised both knee caps several times coming off the bike. This would not have happened with any of the MTB knee pads I own given I have had the same experience there without any bruising at all. Pod needs to go back and re-design their knee-guard insert. The knee-guard has a tendency to pop off the metal retaining pin often, which leads to the knee-guard floating around under my moto pants more than it should. Next, and this is far and away my larger concern, the impact cushioning and absorption is wholly inadequate. Pod states the knee-guard is CE rated but the exact rating isn't listed on the product page. What they should seriously consider is switching to a superior, if not thicker, viscoelastic material other knee pad manufacturers use (e.g. Poc, TroyLee) and certifying to at least EN1621-1 Level 2 as do the forgoing companies mentioned. I'm also a bit disappointed the Pod owner replies to all the 5 star reviews thanking them for their feedback, but doesn't reply to lower reviews offering specific feedback - I would have thought they would at least acknowledge their user's opinions in consideration of future product enhancements. If Pod re-designs the knee-guards , I will happily purchase them and update this review, otherwise I am seriously and sadly considering giving up the K8 to get better knee protection.

This should be a 5-star review for the K8 2.0 but held back by 2-star impact protection. Overall I love the fit and support the brace provides and feel it is a real benefit for the enduro moto riding I do. The downside is the impact protection for the knee is minimal even though it is CE rated. I have had a couple of slow speed falls and felt much more impact to my knee and resulting soreness afterwards than I would have with any other knee pads I’ve used. When you examine the pads you can see just how thin they are and therefore minimal amount of impact absorption. I recognize these braces are intended for multi sport, but would seriously advise Pod to offer an optional knee cup for moto with impact gel that would put it on par with its competitors and, most importantly, better protect its users.
